Firmwide Support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County

Meardon, Sueppel & Downer P.L.C. is proud to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County in the 2017 Bowl for Kids Sake event. Funds raised during Bowl for Kids Sake help connect 900 local youth with mentors and role models, whose nurturing, encouragement, and support have proven to have a lasting, positive influence on the children in the program. Attorneys, staff, and their families and friends represented the firm at this years' event.

Attorney Tom Hobart Named Lawyer of the Year for Labor and Employment Litigation in the Area

Thomas D. Hobart was recently named the Best Lawyers 2017 Cedar Rapids Litigation - Labor and Employment "Lawyer of the Year." Only a single lawyer in each practice in each community is honored as the Lawyer of the Year. Congratulations, Tom!

Pro Bono Honor Roll

Meardon, Sueppel & Downer attorneys Douglas D. Ruppert, Thomas D. Hobart, Timothy J. Krumm, Catherine S. Gerlach, and Kelli N. Lang were named to the 2015-2016 Iowa State Bar Association Pro Bono Honor Roll.  The Honor Roll recognizes Iowa attorneys who assist low-income Iowans in accessing the Iowa civil judicial system. Catherine Gerlach and Sean Wandro Present CLE on Real Estate and Probate Law

Attorneys Sean Wandro and Catherine Gerlach recently presented seminars at the Iowa State Bar Association and Young Lawyers Division Nuts and Bolts Seminar in Coralville, Iowa. Wandro presented on Real Estate 101 and Gerlach presented on Estate Planning 101. 

Wandro Named Summer of the Arts Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to Sean Wandro, who was recently named Volunteer of the Year for the 2016 Summer of the Arts festivals. Sean worked as a volunteer over multiple festivals and managed other volunteers for the organization. Meardon, Sueppel & Downer is a proud sponsor of the Summer of the Arts Volunteers and continues its commitment to the organization annually.

RND Conference Room Opening Reception

Meardon, Sueppel & Downer held a reception honoring the contributions of Bob Downer to the firm. During the reception, the firm unveiled his portrait, which will hang in the firm conference room bearing his name.

Downer Named as President of Hoover Presidential Foundation

Bob Downer was recently named President of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Foundation. His term will continue through 2017, and he previously served the organization as Vice President. The Hoover Foundation works together with the National Archives Records Administration, the National Park Service, and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. The Hoover Presidential Library, Museum, birthplace, and gravesite are in West Branch, Iowa.
