Jim’s practice is primarily but not exclusively focused on the six practice areas shown above.

Jim is a member of the American, Iowa and Johnson County Bar Associations and served as the President of the Johnson County Bar Association (2003-2004). He is a fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association.

Jim has been published in the Iowa Law Review, of which he is a past board member and has taught classes in Family Law for the National Business Institute.

Jim graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law Magna Cum Laude (with high distinction) and served on the Iowa Law Review board of directors.
